Peony flowers in Tree Peony Garden in central Pennsylvania, USA.
The owner of this Tree Peony Garden is a Chinese American with a strong interest and hobby in gardening. He
bought a large farm land in rural area in central Pennsylvania for his enjoyment of retirement life. He plants and
cultivates these beautiful tree peony flowers by himself. He invited several of his classmates and friends to
come here to share his enjoyment of beautiful peony flowers. We are, therefore, very lucky to have this special
opportunity to come here to enjoy the beautiful flowers and his hospitality on May 23 and 24, 2008.
In addition to this tour of the Tree Peony Garden in central Pennsylvania in May 2008, we also toured several
clusters of beautiful waterfalls in eastern Pennsylvania in Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area in
July and September 2006 as shown in the following photos.
The Main Falls in the cluster of Bushkill Falls. Drop

The zigzag trail, boardwalk and steep stairway on the sidewall of the gorge for visitors to go down to the
bottom of the gorge to see the Main Falls in the cluster of Bushkill Falls.

In eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware River is the boundary between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. There are
several state parks along Delaware River with substantial areas of forest that attract large number of many
kinds of song birds. On May 26, 2008, we went hiking in two of such forest areas to listen to and to watch
these song birds. These two areas are: (1) Bull's Island of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park near
Raven Rock on New Jersey side of the river and (2) Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve near New Hope on
Pennsylvania side of the river.

It is a pleasure to listen to the wonderful sound of many kinds of song birds in the forest while hiking on these
trails with the Delaware River on one side and Delaware and Raritan Canal on the other side. When we look up,
sometime we are lucky to see two song birds on the trees as shown in this photo.
可靜聽幽林百鳥啁啾之樂,自然之聲飄于密林,此起彼伏,駐足聆
聽,的確美妙動人,人行其中,耳聽鳥鳴,宛若仙境。
Since these song birds are small, very often we can hear them but we cannot see them. Instead, what
we see are often the forest canopy with sunshine shinning through like this photo.
吾友是賞鳥高手,經常會駐足聆聽,通過一些蛛絲馬跡發掘好鳥。
Here we see a water thrasher singing with its beak open.
In this section, the trail becomes a dike with the Delaware River on right side and the Delaware and Raritan
Canal on left side.
