We toured southern Florida in February 2004 including Everglade National Park, Florida Keys, Miami,
Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, and J. N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island.

Many fish at Royal Palm in Everglade National Park
We saw many herons and egrets in flight or wading in the water. This blue heron was on a branch looking
down intensely at the fish in the water
A fish building a bowl-shaped nest in the water. The fish was very busy moving the dirt and pebbles from the
middle of the nest to the rim of the nest

Many white pelicans on a lake in Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge
Many beautiful pink colored Roseate Spoonbills in Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Unfortunately, I did
not have compact super-zoom camera in 2004 to zoom in to get much closer views of these beautiful pink
colored big birds. Such problem motivated me to buy compact super-zoom camera later on for my subsequent
sightseeing and wildlife watching trips.
Nice close-up photos of beautiful Roseate Spoonbills can be seen at the following websites:

Ten years later in January 2014, we came to Florida again to make a more extensive tour of the entire Florida
for winter wildlife watching and photography as described starting on my web page at:

One of the flamingos is sleeping on one tall leg and still maintains good balance while sleeping.
