Abstract

My 23-year research on Mystery Spots indicates that the mysteries in these Mystery Spots are not illusion,
are real and are caused by existence of significant abnormal local gravity in these special locations of Mystery
Spots. The source of such abnormal local gravity is a compact nugget of very high density dark matter
supported by two vertical streams of very high density dark matter. The abnormal local gravity varies with
location in the Mystery Spot area and is usually strongest inside the Mystery House which is a few feet away
from the center of the Mystery Spot area.

The free standing broom often demonstrated in the Mystery House in several Mystery Spots can be set up
easily and be very stable because the broom is held up by the locally strong gravity of very high density dark
matter in the Mystery House. The Mystery Houses in those known Mystery Spots are excellent markers for
scientists to do various close-up experiments on dark matter because very high density dark matter is situated
at the center of Mystery Spot area which is only a few feet away from those Mystery Houses. The free
standing broom may be a good probe to find the precise location of the vertical narrow stream of very high
density dark matter in a deep underground laboratory so that the dark matter detector can be placed correctly
for direct detection of dark matter.

1. Introduction on Mystery of Free Standing Broom

One of the mysteries demonstrated in several Mystery Spots by tour guides is the free standing broom in the
Mystery House, a broom that stands on its bristle, seems to balance all by itself and is stable that way for a
long time.

The definition of a Mystery Spot is given in section 1.2. on my web page at:

http://
www.shltrip.com/Magnetic_Hill.html

However, some people "debunk" this mystery by pointing out that they can stand many brooms on their bristles
at any other places by patience, persistence, and careful balancing act.

2. Two Different Types of Free Standing Broom

On the other hand, with insight from my 23-year research on Mystery Spots and Gravity Hills, I see two
different types of free standing brooms:  B-Type of free standing broom and D-Type free standing broom that
are different and should not be confused.

B-type of free standing broom can be set up anywhere and any time. But it requires patience, persistence, and
careful balancing act to set it up. (B stands for requirement of careful Balancing act.)

D-type of free standing broom can be set up easily without patience, without persistence and without careful
balancing act. But it can be set up so easily only in certain special small area such as the special area in the
Mystery House in a Mystery Spot. (D stands for relying on strong local gravity from high density Dark matter.)

2.1. Impact of Severe Earthquake on D-type Free Standing Broom

Report from Oregon Vortex indicates that after The Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964 of magnitude 9.2, the
tour guides in Oregon Vortex could not do the demonstration of free standing broom for several months.

This is a distinguishing feature of D-type free standing broom. As a contrast, the B-type free standing broom
will not be affected for several months after such serious earthquake in Alaska. The B-type free standing
broom can still be set up anywhere and anytime as long as patience, persistence, and careful balancing act
are used.

3. D-type Free Standing Broom and Dark Matter

More details and the supporting data for this dark matter based theory for Mystery Spot are in my two
companion web pages at:

http://
www.shltrip.com/Oregon-Vortex.html

http://www.shltrip.com/Magnetic_Hill.html

The strength and the vector direction of the abnormal local gravity are not constant, not uniform, but vary with
location depending on the distance and the relative position to the location of the compact source of the
abnormal gravity. Usually the abnormal local gravity is strongest at the location of the Mystery House which is
usually only a few feet from the center of the Mystery Spot area. In other words, the demonstrated mysteries
are most profound in or near the Mystery House a few feet from the center of the Mystery Spot area.

3.1. Hypothesis on Dark Matter and Free Standing Broom

The reason that the abnormal local gravity, especially the horizontal component of the abnormal local gravity, is
strongest in the Mystery House is that the compact nugget and its associated vertical streams of very high
density dark matter are only a few feet away from the Mystery House. The locally strong gravity of the very
high density dark matter is pointing into the center of the compact nugget and the axis of the vertical streams
of very high density dark matter.

A pendulum hanging in the Mystery House swing asymmetrically. Researchers push the weight at the bottom
of the pendulum away from its equilibrium position, and found that it is harder to push in one direction vs.
opposite direction. Their measurements in Oregon Vortex indicate that the difference in required forces to push
the weight in the two opposite directions is about 20%. Such measured results indicate that there is a strong
abnormal horizontal component of gravity in the Mystery House area.

Therefore, the D-type free standing broom can be set up so easily in the small area in the Mystery House
because the tour guide is practically placing (inserting) the broom into the physical location (space) of the
compact nugget and its associated vertical streams of very high density dark matter. The locally strong gravity
of very high density dark matter is holding the broom to stand upright steadily. If the broom deviates from its
stable standing position, the locally strong gravity of very high density dark matter will pull the broom back to
its stable standing position. Due to this locally strong gravity, the tour guide in Mystery House does not need
patience, or persistence, or careful balancing act to set up such D-type free standing broom easily.

But if the broom is outside and far away from the Mystery House, then the broom will fall down easily because
of the lack of the support from the strong gravity of the high density dark matter to keep it standing upright.
Therefore, D-type free standing broom cannot be set up in arbitrary location and must be set up only at the
special small area where there is locally strong gravity from very high density dark matter to keep it standing
upright.

Some people may question if the local gravity from the dark matter in Mystery House is strong enough to keep
the broom from falling down. A good indication of the strength of such local gravity of dark matter is that all
free standing visitors near or inside the Mystery House are standing with a leaning angle of about 17 degrees
to counter act the strong horizontal pull from the very high density dark matter. When these visitors look
straight down, they cannot see their own shoes or feet because their bodies are leaning at such a large angle.

The 20 % difference in the required force to push the weight of the pendulum in two opposite directions is also
an indication of a strong horizontal component of gravity in the Mystery House area.

The impact of The Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964 on D-type free standing broom seems to indicate that the
severe earthquake shook up the network of gravity anchor system inside the earth for the compact nugget and
the stream of very high density dark matter so much as to move the position of the compact nugget and its
associated narrow streams of dark matter by several feet and away from the Mystery House such that the
broom could not stand up easily inside the Mystery House for several months. It took several months for the
gravity anchor network in the earth to recover and to move the position of the compact nugget and its
associated narrow stream of dark matter back into the original position near the Mystery House so that the
D-type free standing broom can be demonstrated again.

3.2. Experiencing the Well Known Characteristics of Dark Matter

In the Mystery House of a Mystery Spot, we experience the well known characteristics of dark matter as
follows:

A. We can feel the strong gravity:

When we are near or inside the Mystery House, we feel a very strong horizontal gravity pull on our bodies. To
keep our balance, we have to either (A1) hold tight to the wood guard rail on the sidewall of the Mystery
House or (A2) lean our bodies by about 17 degrees to counter act that strong horizontal pull. The
demonstration of free standing broom inside the Mystery House also depends on that strong gravity from the
very high density dark matter to keep the broom standing upright for a long time. The asymmetric pendulum is
also an indication of a strong abnormal horizontal component of gravity in the Mystery House area.

B. We cannot see it:

We cannot see any dark matter in or near the Mystery House or anywhere in the Mystery Spot area.

C. We cannot touch it:

We can walk everywhere inside the Mystery House (with substantial effort against that strong horizontal pull,)
and nearby areas but we do not bump into any physical source of the strong gravity in or near the Mystery
House. We probably walk through the high density dark matter in or near the Mystery House without knowing
it, except for the automatic responses and the efforts of our bodies to defy the strong abnormal gravity to try
to keep balance for us. The tour guide can insert the broom into the physical location/space of the compact
nugget and its associated vertical narrow stream of very high density dark matter to demonstrate the mystery
of Free Standing Broom. These are confirmation that dark matter rarely interact with ordinary matter by any
force directly except by gravity.

4. Implications to the Science of Dark Matter

With such understanding, the D-type free standing broom may have very important implications and
applications to the science of dark matter.

4.1. The Mystery House in a Mystery Spot is an marker location for scientists to conduct various close-up
experiments on dark matter, especially very high density dark matter. For example, the D-type free standing
broom may be used as a probe for scientists to explore the cross-section size of the compact nugget and of
the associated vertical narrow streams of very high density dark matter. Such experiments may yield better
estimation of the cross-section sizes of the compact nugget and of the vertical narrow stream of very high
density dark matter.

4.2. We may also measure the strength of the gravity from the compact nugget and the associated narrow
stream of very high density dark matter.

4.3. The measured data from Sections 4.1 and 4.2 may enable us to improve the accuracy of our estimation of
the high mass density of the dark matter in the compact nugget and the associated narrow streams of very
high density dark matter.

4.4. The D-type free standing broom may also be used to find the location of the narrow stream of very high
density dark matter in a deep underground laboratory so that the dark matter detector can be placed correctly
for direct detection of dark matter or for other future more advanced experiments on dark matter.
