The winter of 2012/2013 is unusual and is stretched into the first week of April 2013 in New Jersey. There
were three days of heavy snow and many sunny but cold days in March, 2013. The Prunus mume blossom
(梅 花) loves these cold days in winter and has been blooming very well on my yard for about one month
from early March into early April 2013. There are still more flower buds on my Prunus mume trees to bloom
in next couple weeks in April. This stretched winter gives me plenty of opportunities to take many photos of
beautiful Prunus mume blossom blooming on sunny days in early spring of 2013 on my front yard and back
yard as shown on this web page.

In the first week of April 2013, the weather was still cold and windy. I went to Holmdel Park in Holmdel, New
Jersey for walking exercise. I met some other visitors who expressed their disappointment because they
came to Holmdel Park hoping to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossom. But there were still no cherry blossom
and no other flowers at all because the weather was still to cold in the first week of April. Some other friends
drove south to Washington DC hoping to enjoy cherry blossom and were disappointed too because there
were still no cherry blossom yet in the first week of April.

The two Prunus mume trees on my front yard have pink color blossoms whereas the two Prunus mume trees
on my back yard near the porch have red color blossoms. It is funny that my fifth Prunus mume tree on my
side yard just started to bloom in the first week of April, almost one month late as compared to the other four
Prunus mume trees on my yard.
